Seeing as how Shailene Woodley’s character in “Adrift” gets lost at sea for well over a month, diet and exercise played a critical part in her preparation for the role.
And while the regimen was effective in preparing her for the role, she does admit it was “a lesson in resiliency and not something I would ever do recreationally.”
We caught up with Woodley and talked everything from her rigorous workouts and mental health, to how she practices self-care. And lucky for us, she was game to share it all!
Shailene Woodley’s new movie, “Adrift,” is based on the true story of Tami Oldham Ashcraft, who endured Hurricane Raymond in the Pacific Ocean in 1983. Woodley, who portrays Tami and is also a producer of the film, joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss what it was like to shoot the majority of the film in the open sea and the role love played in Ashcraft’s survival.
Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin talk to BBC Radio 1’s film critic Ali Plumb about new movie Adrift, and the perils of shooting a film at sea. Warning: contains lots of references to puke!
Paramount Pictures have debuted a new video for An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth To Power, the climate change documentary that arrives in cinemas next Friday, and features the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Bono, Pharrell Williams, Camila Cabello, Andra Day, Ryan Tedder, Adam Levine, DNCE, The Chainsmokers, Jennifer Hudson, Rainn Wilson, Shailene Woodley, Randy Jackson and Steve Aoki who all say why they are “Inconvenient” to save the planet.
A decade after An Inconvenient Truth brought climate change into the heart of popular culture, comes the riveting and rousing follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes – in moments both private and public, funny and poignant — as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.
Watch the new clip below, and the film in UK cinemas from August 18th.
